Smarter Foods Contributes To The Weight Management Discussion
From Functional Ingredients magazine
Brentwood, TN, U.S.A. – July 31, 2009 – "Enjoying what you eat and good health are not mutually exclusive," explains Smarter Foods' co-founder and president Ajay Chawan in a recent news article.
Ajay was interviewed by Functional Ingredients magazine, a leading food industry publication, for its 2009 Condition-Specific Guide. The weight management article that Ajay was interviewed for points out that Americans are willing to take supplements to help manage weight, diabetes, and heart disease. Unfortunately, many products available today don't deliver on their promises. In fact, some products have been shown to be detrimental to consumers' health.
"If the nutritional value of foods that people enjoy eating could be increased without affecting taste or enjoyment, those products presumably would gain widespread acceptance in the marketplace,"states Ajay as he describes the product development philosophy at Smarter Foods. "The key," Ajay further explains, "is to give consumers the foods they want while also providing the health and wellness benefits they need."
